Be An Intrepid Marketer – Recommendation No. 9

Inspired by Duct Tape Marketing, it is important to execute on a DAILY social media system:

Engage in real dialog with 10 people a day on Twitter.
On Twitter, RT other’s content four times more often than your own.
Connect with two new friends on Facebook.
Write something on someone’s Facebook Wall that is non-business related.
Answer at least one question on LinkedIn.
Post at least one entry on your blog.
Contribute/Comment on someone else’s blog.
Read and follow other blogs in your RSS reader.

You get the idea – and your list/routine will differ. It may not seem natural, but following a system will help you – discipline you – to get more out of social media, help you give forward in social media, and build stronger relationships in social media.

Todd,
Having a system applies to anything in life. I try to “habitize” all the important things that I should be doing. That way it’s easier to do and I develop consistency.

But I really appreciate this post because I haven’t really done it yet for social networking. So you’ve helped me realize I should make up my own little daily checklist like yours, print it, cut it out and tape it to my monitor. Just to make sure I’m touching all the bases!
